MOODBOARD
A peek into my background, values, and interests
My love for design is rooted in my identity, which embodies the intersection between creativity and practicality. Before I found the perfect middle ground of product design, the years I spent pursuing either bioengineering or the arts allowed me to hone the skills necessary to becoming a better designer:
Research, innovation, creativity, and artistic expression.
My dual nature likely stems from my juxtaposing American and Japanese background, which has shaped me into the multicultural person I am today. I pride myself on being highly analytical and detail-oriented, and on my drive to continuously learn and grow—not only as a designer, but also as a person.
I will never stop creating, designing, and inventing. At my core, I am driven by my desire to elevate our lived experiences—through opportunities for delight or solving real challenges. I always keep this goal in mind and hope to make meaningful impacts through my designs.

Things I could talk about for hours:
- Neuroplasticity
- Hilma af Klint
- Design accessibility
- Anything biology or physics
COMMUNITY
I'm a leader by heart, and dedicated myself to fostering design communities
Co-President of UX@Berkeley, Figma Campus Leader, and mentoring aspiring designers.

I led over 20+ workshops with the goal of democratizing design on campus

Leading UX@Berkeley was one of my proudest accomplishments

DESIGN PRINCIPLES
I design at the intersection of human psychology, systems logic, and measurable impact
Our brains make decisions subconsciously. Design must speak to what users feel before they can explain it.
01
Empathetic Design
I design with an awareness of both user emotion and cognition, tailoring emotional intent contextually, whether that be trust, confidence, or delight.
02
Every Detail Matters
Craft lives in the details, as details signal quality. I design with precision—maintaining consistency across spacing, typography, and platforms.
03
Results and Data-Driven
I balance intuition with evidence, grounding design decisions in testing data and cognitive patterns to drive measurable results.
ON THE SIDE
I like to create, explore, and learn
My favorite forms of creating include cooking, digital art, and self expression. Exploration is also in my nature. There is so much to see and do around the world. I also like to keep myself educated through podcasts on scientific discoveries, neuro/cognitive ideas, and AI.
